Club Marine is not your run-of-the-mill boat insurer – clients are members who get access to a bunch of value add-ons like magazines, roadside assistance, apps, and loads of boating lifestyle content. So there’s a lot going on which we had to figure out to create the best user experience. This has been the most enjoyable website project I’ve worked on because I got to sit with the UX designer from day one. By bouncing ideas around, he was able to help me and I was able to help him. But when project owners treat website design more like car assembly – pulling copy from here, UX from there and not keeping everyone in the loop – that’s when things fall through the cracks.
